Global Beatles Day

Global Beatles Day is a holiday that is observed worldwide and celebrates the band The Beatles and the music they have provided to fans over the years. Also known as World Beatles Day, this annual celebration allows fans everywhere to connect not only with the band’s music but also with each other.

This holiday is observed on the 25th of June every year, which any Beatles fan will quickly realize is a very significant date in the history of the band. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are the men behind this band, and together they have sold over 600 million albums across the globe.

This just goes to show anyone thinking about celebrating this holiday or listening to the band for the first time, just how successful it really was and still is.

The History Of Global Beatles Day

Although John Lennon and Paul McCartney first performed together in 1957, it wouldn’t be until May 1960 that the band The Silver Beatles was created. In August of the same year, they would drop the “silver” part of their name and just call themselves The Beatles.

In August 1962, Ringo Starr would join the band after the original drummer of the band, Stuart Sutcliffe, died of a brain hemorrhage. The Beatles would then release their first single “Love Me Do,” and it became a number-one hit in the United States.

On June 25th, 1967, The Beatles would perform for the first time on the BBC program Our World. The song they performed for that broadcast was “All You Need is Love.” The date of this broadcast is why Global Beatles Day is observed on this day.

In 2009, Beatles super-fan Faith Cohen created the holiday as a love letter to the band. It has been observed by other fans on this day ever since and, unsurprisingly, this holiday has become extremely popular.

Observing Global Beatles Day

Observing Global Beatles Day is fairly easy. All a person has to do is listen to their favorite Beatles songs and albums. Of course, figuring out what songs to listen to on this day might not be such an easy task since the band has 213 songs to choose from, some of which exist in different versions.

Of those 213 songs, 188 of them are originals and 25 are covers, so good luck in choosing your favorites. In our opinion, all of them are great, but we’re not sure if we’re going to be able to play all these songs in just one day.

Regardless, we’re going to be celebrating this holiday and encouraging other people to do the same. Everyone should be sure to also spread the word about this holiday using the hashtag #GlobalBeatlesDay online. Let’s see what songs people like the most from this band.
