Every human being on the planet has to deal with stress, and many of us have to deal with a lot of it. That’s because just living life can be stressful. Everyone knows that. What many people don’t realize, however, is that all that stress can be harmful to a person’s mental and physical health.

Unchecked stress can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and even obesity. It can also cause mental health problems such as depression. That’s why everyone needs to learn how to manage their stress levels and find their center.

A holiday that reminds us all to do just that is called Loosen Up, Lighten Up Day. This day is observed annually on November 14th and encourages everyone to enjoy some downtime and spend that time with friends and family members.

Even though we did extensive research trying to uncover the origins of this holiday, we were unable to find out who invented it or even when it was invented. We think that it has only been around for a few years, but once again, we have to emphasize that this is only a guess. We do know that this holiday has inspired a variety of people all over the world to take some time out for themselves, which is good enough for us.

Observing Loosen Up, Lighten Up Day

As we said earlier, this holiday is all about learning how to let go and relax. That’s why we’re not going to recommend any specific activities that people can do on this day. We know that Type A personalities will only take our suggestions and find a way to stress out over the details of putting those suggestions into action.

That’s why we’re only recommending that people use Loosen Up, Lighten Up Day to do the things that relax them. For some people, that’s going to be not doing anything, and that’s okay, too.
