Love Your Thighs Day

Love Your Thighs Day is a holiday that’s observed on the fourth Thursday of April and encourages people all over the world to practice a little bit of body positivity. Although the fashion and beauty industry tends to make us all feel bad that our bodies don’t match the perfect example of beauty they set forth, this holiday is attempting to do the exact opposite.

It’s telling people that no matter the size of their thighs, they are beautiful and they should love themselves. Let’s face facts, people come in all shapes and sizes, and everyone is special in their own way. If more of us took the time to realize that, then maybe this would be a more positive and accepting world.

The History Of Love Your Thighs Day

This holiday was created by Julia Abasova and Rena Abramoff in 2013. They had just created Bandelettes — lace thigh bands that were placed on the upper thigh to prevent inner thigh chafing.

They wanted to help women who also suffered from painful thigh chafing. The holiday was launched in conjunction with this brand to raise awareness about the brand and to promote body positivity.

Observing Love Your Thighs Day

Everyone is encouraged to try and think about themselves in a more positive manner, especially when they think of their thighs. It’s also a good day for people to look up their favorite inspirational quotes from their favorite speakers.

On social media, people can use the hashtag #LoveYourThighsDay to spread the word about this holiday to anyone and everyone who needs to know about it. Let’s us all come together to create a more inclusive and kind society.

Let’s not judge other people for how they look and let’s not judge ourselves for our perceived flaws. If we can do that, then not only will this holiday be successful, but the world will be better as well.
