Make Up Your Own Holiday Day

Make Up Your Own Holiday Day is observed annually on March 26th. Although every holiday currently on the calendar is technically a “made-up holiday,” this day encourages everyone to create their own reason for celebrating. Whatever holiday a person wants to invent—it doesn’t even matter.

Because it’s a holiday invented on the fly by the person celebrating it, the holiday is going to be extremely unique and more personal. So anyone who wants a holiday that seems custom-crafted to them (because they invented it) might want to try out this holiday and have a good time.

The History of Make Up Your Own Holiday Day

Once again, this holiday was created by Thomas and Ruth Roy from Wellcat.com. On their website, they have almost 100 holidays and they seem to be creating more every year. Some of the holidays they’ve created include Bathtub Party Day on December 5th, Bad Poetry Day on August 18th, and Be Bald and Be Free Day on October 14th. Now, with the creation of Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, you can add another one to their list.

Observing Make Up Your Own Holiday Day

As the name of this holiday suggests, the best way to celebrate it is by inventing your own holiday. A holiday that appeals to you and your family, and one that will have personal meaning for you and your family. If you invent a holiday that’s particularly well done, then let everyone know what it is by using the hashtag #MakeUpYourOwnHolidayDay on social media.
