National Banana Lovers Day

National Banana Lovers Day is a holiday that attempts to unite all of us banana lovers on one particular day of the year. This might not be as easy as it sounds, however. After all, the banana is one of the most popular and beloved fruits on the planet, so there are likely to be a lot of people who call themselves banana lovers.

Especially if people on this day are being encouraged to enjoy bananas in smoothies, banana splits, or cut up on their cereal. This is also a good day for people to share their love of bananas not only with friends and family members but also with the world.

The History of National Banana Lovers Day

Bananas have long been considered the first cultivated fruit in the world. Many food historians and scientists believe that bananas were first cultivated approximately 2,000+ years ago.

They were originally found in Southeast Asia and were brought west by Arab traders during the 4th century B.C. They were then carried throughout Asia Minor to Africa and subsequently to the New World. Several varieties of bananas have since spread across the world.

Unfortunately, no one really knows who invented National Banana Lovers Day. It is one of those special Internet holidays that just appeared one day and began to be spread across the World Wide Web by banana lovers around the world.

Of course, we will continue to try to find out exactly who, when, and where this holiday was invented, and if we find those things out, then we’ll update this section as soon as possible. Promise.

Observing National Banana Lovers Day

Grab a couple of bunches of bananas and have a good time on National Banana Lovers Day. That’s how we’re going to observe this holiday. Now, we’re not going to eat the bananas straight out of their peels.

No, we’re going to transform them into something truly delicious. Perhaps we’ll enjoy a nice banana split or banana milkshake. Perhaps we’ll whip up some banana bread or banana oat muffins, or maybe we’ll savor some banana nut pancakes or banana orange bars.

Or maybe a delicious bananas foster is what we’re going to whip up on this holiday. We’re not quite sure what we’re going to make right at this moment, but we do know it’s going to include bananas and taste delicious.

Anyone and everyone who makes a great banana recipe should take the time to share it with the world by posting it online and tagging it with the hashtag #NationalBananaLoversDay. Let’s all see what you made with your bananas.
