National Comfy Day

National Comfy Day is a holiday that’s observed annually on February 20th and encourages everyone to get comfy for the day. What does that mean? That means curling up with a soft, warm blanket, eating comfort foods, and just spending the day riding the couch.

Surprisingly, this holiday became popular because of a reality TV show and the creators of a product that’s aptly named “The Comfy.” Regardless of where this holiday began, however, we think that we all can agree that a day of staying home and staying warm and comfy sounds like a really good idea.

The History Of National Comfy Day

In 2017, Michael and Brian Speciale invented a wearable blanket known as “The Comfy,” an invention that would be debuted on the popular TV series Shark Tank. While we’re unsure how successful this product was, we do know that the episode caused the holiday National Comfy Day to be invented. Now, this day is celebrated all over the United States by anyone and everyone looking to be more comfortable.

Some Of The Best Comfort Foods

Okay, we can’t talk about a holiday called National Comfy Day without talking about some of the best comfort foods on the planet. Okay, the following list probably doesn’t contain the best comfort foods in the world, but they do contain some of our favorites.

Observing National Comfy Day

We don’t think that people have to run out and buy The Comfy to celebrate this holiday. We think that putting on a pair of old sweatpants and an oversized shirt is probably good enough.

Throw in a big blanket, a nice tasty beverage, and a couple of episodes of The Golden Girls and you’re probably good to go. While kicking back and relaxing, be sure to use the hashtag #NationalComfyDay to spread the word to everyone else who needs to be comfortable.
