Wife Appreciation Day
Falling on the third Sunday in September, Wife Appreciation Day is a day in which men can take time out of their day to show their wives some love and appreciation. Since wives show their husbands an abundance of consideration and love, it’s time to return the favor on this annually observed holiday. And since Husband Appreciation Day is coming up in April, this day is a good day to earn some brownie points so your wife will be extra nice to you on your day.
The History of Wife Appreciation Day
At this moment, there is no indication when this holiday was invented or who invented it. It may have come out of the tradition of honoring childless women who were married. Regardless, it’s a holiday that’s been celebrated for some time now.
How to Celebrate Wife Appreciation Day
Here are a few ideas to celebrate this holiday:
Order Your Wife Some Flowers
Nothing shows your wife just how much you care for her than flowers. Good flower choices for this day includes white or red carnations, red roses or lavender.
Help Her Around the House
Another way to show your appreciation to your wife is by taking on the burden of some of her chores for the day. If she normally does the dishes, then do the dishes for her. If she normally cooks, then consider taking her out for dinner.
Take Her Out To A Romantic Dinner
I touched upon this in the last tip but it is worth repeating. Take your wife out for a night on the town. Perhaps a nice candle lit dinner would be in order. Just someplace where you and her can spend some quality alone time together.
Take Her On a Trip
If the both of you can afford it, and you have the time, then consider taking her out on a romantic trip. It doesn’t have to be a weekend in Paris or anything. Sometimes even a nice drive is good enough to give you and your wife some quality time together.
Tell Her How Much She Means To You
Just let her know how much she means to you and don’t be afraid to tell her “I love you.” If you really want to impress her, then write her a note telling her exactly what you find special about her.
Modern life is hectic and couples can quickly lose touch with each other. Which is why it’s important to celebrate holidays like National Wife Appreciation Day. Just taking some time out of your busy schedule can mean wonders to your mate and your marriage.
