International Ideas Month
Although most of us believe that every thought that tumbles through our brains is a gem that needs to be shared with the world, the fact of the matter is that most of them are not. However, that doesn’t mean there haven’t been ideas that were revolutionary, and some even changed the world.
The Scientific Method, the Independence Movement of the 18th century, and the Human Rights Movement of the mid-20th century are just some ideas that changed the world. And all the inventions we now enjoy today began with a simple idea.
So maybe more of us should take the time to observe International Ideas Month, during the month of March, to share our thoughts and celebrate the ideas that have changed modern life.
The History of International Ideas Month
Unfortunately, whoever invented this holiday month decided to remain anonymous. We searched the internet up and down and couldn’t find out who invented this holiday month. It would appear that no one wants to take credit for it, so we’ll just say that this month was probably invented by someone who had a big idea about big ideas.
Developing & Increasing Creativity
Needless to say, it’s important for people trying to come up with big ideas to ramp up their creativity. And this can be done in any number of different ways. To help everyone celebrate International Ideas Month, we’ve decided to list some tips that people can use for developing and increasing their own personal store of creativity that they can unleash anytime they want. Let’s look at them below.
Practice Creativity
Many people wait for creativity to strike before they begin writing a story, screenplay, or doing some other form of art. That’s a mistake. Creativity is cultivated through practice, so that means working on your craft, even if you don’t immediately have ideas. Don’t worry; they’ll eventually come once you let your brain know that you’re waiting for them.
Give Your Brain a Break
Just as important as practice is giving the brain a break. This can be done by meditating, taking a nap, watching a movie, or reading a book.
Think Outside the Box
Sometimes doing something different from what you ordinarily do is a way to spark creativity. If you’re a screenwriter, try penning a sonnet. If you’re an oil painter, try drawing with a pencil. Sometimes just changing how you approach a project will inspire creativity.
Observing International Ideas Month
This holiday month is all about being creative, so everyone should do what they can to be creative and come up with some truly amazing ideas. People should also make sure that they spread their favorite ideas online using the hashtag #InternationalIdeasMonth. Let everyone know about your genius and bring your ideas into the world for everyone to see. Doesn’t that sound like a whole lot of fun
