This holiday actually comes from an episode of “Parks and Recreation” that goes by the same name. The “Galentine’s Day” episode is the 16th episode of the second season of the show.
It aired on NBC in the U.S. on February 11, 2010, and was seen by nearly 5 million household viewers. During this episode, Leslie (played by Amy Poehler) throws an annual Galentine’s Day party for her female friends on the day before Valentine’s Day.
Leslie was able to enjoy female friendships with her co-workers and close friends, all while exchanging gifts and enjoying waffles. And this is how this holiday came into being, making it one of the holidays that has been created thanks to a TV program.
