National Boyfriend Day is a day that’s commemorated on the 3rd of October every year and is an unofficial holiday in which people can spend time with their significant others. It’s considered to be the other half of the significant other holiday, with the other one being Girlfriend Day – a day in which girlfriends are celebrated on the 1st of August every year.
After doing extensive research, I can find no proof of this holiday being created or it being celebrated in any way whatsoever. As such, it may be an Internet myth but since it has been mentioned on several reputable websites, I think it’s safe to say it is one that is going to grow in popularity over time.
Customs, Traditions and Celebrations
Since little is known about this holiday or its origin, it’s really hard to pin down some of the ways people might practice it. However, since it is the logical other half of Girlfriend’s Day, I imagine the best way to celebrate it would be for people to take care of their boyfriends for the day and show them the love and adoration they deserve. Some ideas include making them dinner, giving them a gift or doing something nice for them. I think that’s probably the best way to celebrate this unofficial holiday.
